How to Play

Backgammon rules are straightforward but allow for deep strategy:

Movement: White moves clockwise (from point 24 to 1), and Dark moves counter-clockwise (from point 1 to 24).
Dice: Roll two dice. You can move one checker by both dice values, or move two checkers by individual values. Rolling doubles allows you to play the numbers twice (4 moves).
Blocking: Landing on a point with 2 or more opponent checkers is blocked. Landing on a single opponent checker (blot) "hits" it, sending it to the central Bar.
The Bar: If you have checkers on the Bar, you must move them back onto the board first (entering in the opponent's home board) before making any other moves.
Bearing Off: Once all 15 of your checkers are inside your Home quadrant (points 1–6 for White, 19–24 for Dark), you can begin bearing them off the board. The first to bear off all checkers wins!
